Sunset+Vine has won the contract to produce and distribute one of horseracing’s most famous festivals, the Dubai International Racing Carnival (DIRC).
The seventh Carnival will take place at the brand new state-of-the-art Meydan Racecourse in Dubai, and includes nine fixtures from January 28 through to March 5 worth about U$10m in total prize-money.
Sunset+Vine, which produces the BBC’s horse racing coverage, has been responsible for the TV production and distribution of the world’s most valuable race day, the Dubai World Cup meeting, since the race’s inception in 1996.
Sunset+Vine TV horseracing producer Dermot Cumiskey said: “Sunset+Vine has a proud tradition of covering the premier horse racing events from all around the world over the years.
“We have a long and valued association with Dubai and the Dubai World Cup, and we are delighted the Dubai Racing Club has entrusted Sunset+Vine with this year’s Carnival, which marks the opening of the futuristic Meydan on January 28 and is arguably the most pivotal chapter in Dubai racing.”
