BDO in Russia will support the country’s bid to host the 2018 or 2022 football World Cups.
The company has signed an agreement with the bid committee to provide
“substantial consulting support” in the areas of management and finance.
Alexey Sorokin, chief executive of the bid committee and the Russian Football Union (RFU), said: “The compilation of the comprehensive bid documents, as well as the co-ordination of our work with a large number of private and governmental stakeholders, requires a great deal of legal, financial, auditing and consulting expertise. With BDO in Russia, the bid committee can count on highly specialised knowledge in these crucial areas.”
BDO is a sponsor of the national football team and an official RFU partner and auditor. BDO in Russia was a general consultant for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic bid committee and since 2003 the company has been an outside auditor for the RFU.
