The SportAccord International Convention has appointed CH2M HILL as its official sustainability and legacy partner.
CH2M HILL will develop a sustainable event management programme for the convention over the next two years. The agreement has been signed ahead of the eighth annual SportAccord Convention which takes place in Dubai between April 25 and 30.
“This partnership with CH2M HILL is a great way for us to begin our learning in the important area of sustainability,” said Anna Hellman, executive director of the SportAccord International Convention.
“As an international convention representing world sport, we want to help share knowledge and understanding of what sustainability in sport means and whether sport can act as a catalyst for the introduction of sustainability programmes in cities and regions around the world.
“It is also very important for us as a convention to start our own sustainability journey and make sure we are doing all we can over the coming years to demonstrate sustainable event management best practice and to bring cutting-edge sustainability and legacy expertise to the programme.”
