The doomed bid to revive the French Grand Prix at the Flins-Les-Mureaux circuit cost almost 8 million Euros, it has emerged.
The Yvelines region was hoping to build a new track to stage the race after the demise of the Magny Cours event, but abandoned the plans last month.
France's Auto Hebdo now claims that Yvelines' Conseil General spent 7.9 million Euros on the failed plan.
New FIA president Jean Todt said when he was elected that he wanted resurrect his home grand prix, but has not mentioned the subject publicly since.
