ASCOD elects new governing board 28/01/2010

The African Sports Confederation of Disabled (ASCOD) has elected a new governing board, which will be headed by Angolan Leonel da Rocha as president.
Jose Rodrigo from Cape Verde has been appointed secretary general, while Rigbi Khaled (Libya), Elouni Hamid (Morocco) and Sarel Marais (South Africa) will serve as vice-presidents.
Da Rocha, who takes the place of Egyptian Nabil Salem, has served three terms as president of the National Paralympic Committee of Angola.
ASCOD’s plans include improved co-operation with the International Paralympic Committee, International Organisations of Sport for the Disabled, international sport federations and other partners in the Paralympic Movement.
