Whirlpool of India has agreed a deal to become the official sponsor and ‘cooling partner’ of the Kings XI Punjab Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket team.
The home appliance company’s logo will feature on the team’s shirts, and it will also have a significant presence in the stadium at home games in the form of perimeter board advertising, placards and branding on the cheerleader podium.
Whirlpool of India managing director Arvind Uppal said “The Indian Premier League is the most eagerly anticipated event in the sporting calendar of the sub-continent. It is a huge draw for both national and international cricket fans.
“We are very excited to be an integral part of the tournament through our association with Kings XI Punjab, which is an excellent platform to connect with our customers.”
The company also plans to run a new advertising campaign featuring Kings XI Punjab star Yuvraj Singh to promote its new range of air conditioners.
