French Football Federation director general Jacques Lambert says the country has used lessons learned from its failed 2012 Olympic bid in its campaign to host the European Championships in 2016.
France, Italy and Turkey submitted their bid books to Uefa this week and Lambert said: “We looked at what happened to the 2012 Olympics [when London beat Paris], the campaign that had been conducted, what was said after. We’ve tried to use the strengths and avoid the mistakes.”
Uefa will announce the host country for Euro 2016 on May 28.
