A ‘Welcome to Wales’ concert at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium will replace the traditional gala dinner before this year’s Ryder Cup, organisers have announced.
Live Nation, the world’s largest producer of live concerts, has been appointed to stage the “unique multi-artist” event on September 29 – two days before the Ryder Cup begins at Celtic Manor near Newport.
First Minister of Wales Carwyn Jones said: "We are keen to ensure a warm Welsh welcome to visitors. This is an ideal way to kick-start proceedings and show the world what Wales has to offer."
Details about tickets and hospitality packages for the event will be issued at a later date.
