Procter & Gamble’s chairman and chief executive Bob McDonald has admitted that he does not know whether Tiger Woods will appear in another advert for Gillette.
The P&G-owned; brand said it would “limit” Woods’ role in its marketing following the scandal that hit his private life at the end of last year. It is still unclear when the world No 1 will make his comeback despite a public apology for infidelity last week.
Asked if Woods would appear in future advertising, McDonald said: "I don't know – we've got lots of great spokespeople.
"He doesn't need to be distracted by us using his advertising, and we don't need the distraction of us using the advertising, either," McDonald told the Associated Press.
Woods still appears online among the ‘Gillette Champions’, yet new ads for a Gillette shaver feature baseball's Derek Jeter and tennis' Roger Federer but not Woods. The three were in Gillette's major advertising campaign in the US last year.
