Davis Cup signs up HP 03/03/2010

HP is to become a worldwide sponsor of the Davis Cup.
The company has signed a four-year deal with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and will be the official technology sponsor of the competition, which begins this week.
HP will be one of six worldwide partners of the Davis Cup, which is titled sponsored by BNP Paribas.
ITF president Francesco Ricci Bitti said: “It is great news for the ITF and for the sport of tennis that a high-profile company like HP has joined our international family of Davis Cup sponsors.
“The company has a huge global reach and diverse customer base, and we believe HP will be an outstanding partner for Davis Cup by BNP Paribas.
“Technology is one of the world’s true growth areas, and we look forward to working with HP on the enhancement of our own technology systems.”
Michael Mendenhall, HP’s senior vice-president and chief marketing officer, added: “The Davis Cup exemplifies the thrill, excitement and passion of international competition, delivering the highest level of championship tennis for millions of fans worldwide.
