Eurosport has announced that 120 million people watched its TV coverage of the Winter Olympics, while its website attracted 23 million visitors – double the number it pulled for the Summer Games in Beijing in 2008.
The broadcaster revealed that 41 per cent of viewers (50 million) were women, compared to Eurosport’s usual female audience share of 33 per cent. In addition, women watched the coverage for four minutes longer than men.
The five most-watched Olympic events on Eurosport were ski-jumping, biathlon, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing and Nordic combined skiing, the broadcaster added.
