National Hockey League team the Nashville Predators has appointed Tom Cigarran as chairman to replace David Freeman, who is stepping down after three years.
Freeman was part of the management team that bought the Predators franchise in 2007 in order to keep the team in Nashville.
Cigarran, who is currently chairman of the board of Healthways Inc, said: “Everyone should recognise that had David Freeman not taken the initiative to pull together the current ownership team, the Predators would not be in Nashville today.
“Speaking on behalf of the other six owners in our group, we appreciate the time and energy David has contributed while serving his term as chairman.”
