Cricket Scotland has reported a pre-tax surplus of £135,000 for 2009 – making last year its best-ever financial year.
The figures were the result of increased International Cricket Council and Sport Scotland investment, and the country’s participation in the World Twenty20 last year. As a result, Cricket Scotland's financial reserves were boosted to £164,000.
"We are delighted that our annual report is showing such positive growth across all aspects of the game," said Roddy Smith, Cricket Scotland's chief executive.
"Increased ICC funding enabled us to invest more in all our activities, and our structures and development programmes are in excellent shape for the future.
"It is especially pleasing in difficult economic times to report a healthy surplus for the year, which will enable us to continue to invest in the sport's further development in Scotland."
