Serbian businessman Zoran Stefanovic is still hopeful of getting a place on the Formula 1 grid this year, according to a report.
The FIA refused to grant his Stefan GP team entry into this year’s championship despite a slot opening up after US F1 failed to make the 2010 grid.
But Autosport reports that Stefanovic has agreed a deal to purchase US F1 so he can take over its entry.
The motorsport website claims that although Stefanovic believes any such deal would entitle him to the team's original entry, it is understood that the FIA has written to him to explain that US F1 forfeited its place when it failed to start the season.
