Conseco Fieldhouse, home of the National Basketball Association’s Indiana Pacers, is likely to get a new name after the insurance company that sponsors the arena became CNO Financial.
Conseco said in a statement that it will ask shareholders to approve the change in the company’s name at an investor meeting on May 11.
The arena name “will probably change at some point,” Conseco spokesman Tony Zehnder added. “We have the ability to change the name in agreement with the Pacers.”
Conseco is in the 11th year of a 20-year contract for the naming rights to the Indianapolis arena, which opened in 1999. The company paid $40m for the rights.
