Skoda has extended its sponsorship of the Tour de France by two years.
The Volkswagen-owned car brand agreed the renewal with the event’s organiser, the Amaury Sport Organisation. The previous four-year contract expired in 2011.
Skoda Auto’s sponsorship started in 2004 and has survived several doping scandals.
Skoda spokesman Jaroslav Cerny said “a lot has been done” to get rid of doping from the sport.
Skoda, which also supports the Giro d’Italia, provides more than 200 cars to the Tour.
