The Digital Media Centre (DMC) has teamed up with Dutch cable operator UPC and Dutch sports channel Sport1 to broadcast this week’s Masters golf tournament in 3D.
It marks the debut of 3D TV capability from DMC, which was one of the first media companies to introduce high definition in Europe in 2006.
Lukas Kernell, general manager of thematic channels at DMC, said: “We are delighted to debut our 3D TV capabilities with the broadcast of the Masters. 3D is taking the viewer experience to the next level and this development reaffirms our technical lead and commitment to the evolution of television.”
