Police are investigating allegations that two players from Essex County Cricket Club were involved in “match irregularities”.
Essex Police said they were working closely with the club and the England & Wales Cricket Board. No names were given, although some media outlets have speculated as to the identity of the players.
"Following allegations received about two Essex County Cricket Club players involved in match irregularities, we have initiated an investigation," a police statement added.
