Lord’s owner MCC is looking for investment from individuals or businesses to help speed up the £400m redevelopment of the famous ground.
The Times reports that MCC will run a series of adverts in publications around the world next week, although the committee appears to have ruled out selling the naming rights to the venue to raise funds.
MCC chief executive Keith Bradshaw said during the winter that giving up the naming rights to Lord’s would be like “selling your soul”. A preferred solution, the Times claims, would be to rename the media centre.
The redevelopment will be financed largely through the sale of apartments to be built at the Nursery End, but extra investment could help speed up the process.
Advertisements will be placed in newspapers ranging from the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal and South China Morning Post to The Australian Financial Review and The Straits Times of Singapore.
