Hublot has signed a deal to become the official timekeeper of the next two World Cups in South Africa and Brazil.
Hublot sponsored the Swiss national team in 2006 and was an official partner of Euro 2008. It also has links with the Mexican Football Federation and the Spanish national team, as well as being the official timekeeper of Manchester United
Hublot chief executive Jean-Claude Biver said: "We already have an in-depth understanding of the footballing world, as Hublot was the first luxury brand to become involved in this field.
“It is a great honour and an immense pleasure to become the official timekeeper for the next two Fifa World Cups, and to be a part of the largest televised event in the world.”
As part of the deal, the watchmaker’s brand will be visible on the referee's boards when they show substitutions or stoppage time at the 2010 and 2014 tournaments.
Hublot will also create special collections of watches linked to the World Cup from 2011 onwards.
