The Japanese MotoGP has been called off because of the travel problems caused by the cloud of volcanic ash over Europe.
The race, scheduled to take place this coming Sunday (April 25), has been moved to October 3.
Spokesman Hiroshi Oshima said: "Due to the Icelandic volcanic eruption causing flight cancellations by aviation operators, we have decided to postpone the MotoGP scheduled for this weekend.
"Although the situation is beyond our control, we sincerely apologise to fans.”
