The World Tenpin Bowling Federation (WTBA) has kicked off the bidding process for the 2013 World Bowling Championship.
The process is open to all cities, regions, WTBA member federations, private event organisers and corporate partners.
Interested parties have until October 1 to submit their bid documents for the event. From the applications received, WTBA will shortlist candidate cities and site evaluation visits to these cities will be conducted in October and November.
The process concludes in Lausanne when the WTBA will select the host on December 1-2. Bid documents are available through the WTBA office or can be downloaded at www.worldtenpinbowling.com under ‘Rules and Regulations’.
WTBA president Kevin Dornberger said: “It is with great pleasure and excitement that we are launching the bid process for the World Bowling Championship 2013 – the top global event for the sport of bowling.
“To maximise the promotional benefits and potential of the event, we strongly encourage host cities to think ‘outside-the-box’ in terms of city marketing and competition location. We are looking forward to finding a suitable partner to create a truly incredible event in 2013.”
