The Singapore 2010 Youth Olympics Games has signed up the PSB Academy as an official supporter.
The education and training institution will provide health and safety certificates to participants, as well as training Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC) staff to handle emergencies and risk assessments during the Games. PSB will also carry out safety audits of competitions venues.
"PSB Academy is proud and honoured to extend our support for this milestone event in Singapore,” said Dr Steve Lai, chief executive of PSB Academy.
“With our extensive experience in Quality, Environment, Health and Safety (QEHS) training and consulting services, PSB Academy is committed to providing a healthy and safe environment not only for the young sports talents to compete in, but also for the youth from all over the world to participate in the Games.”
Goh Kee Nguan, chief executive of SYOGOC, added: "To organise an international multi-sport event on such a scale, it is important that we put in place the appropriate measures and procedures to ensure the smooth as well as safe operations of the Games.
“We look forward to our partnership with PSB Academy. With its expertise in workplace safety training and its track record in the conduct of safety audit, PSB Academy will be able to equip our workforce with the relevant skills and help us deliver a successful and safe Youth Olympic Games."
