National Hockey League team the Calgary Flames has extended its deal with exclusive telecommunications partner TELUS.
The new “multi-year, multi-million dollar” agreement will see TELUS take on the title sponsorship for Flames broadcasts on Sportsnet West, which is expected to televise 40-plus Flames games in the 2010/11 season.
“TELUS has been one of our most valued supporters for more than 15 years and we are thrilled to make the continuation of that partnership official,” said Flames vice-president of marketing Jim Bagshaw.
“In the revolutionary world of telecommunications, the Calgary Flames are extremely excited to have TELUS as a partner and collaborator as we work together on future opportunities.”
Darren Entwistle, TELUS president and chief executive, added: “For every home game in the Pengrowth Saddledome, Flames fans will know TELUS is there supporting the future success of the hockey club.
“We will also continue to enhance the Flames fan experience, bringing them even closer to the action, through our innovations in TELUS TV, high-speed internet and wireless technology.”
