International Olympic Committee (IOC) board member Rene Fasel has been reprimanded by the organisation over a conflict-of-interest case.
The Associated Press reports that the IOC executive board said on Wednesday (April 28) that Fasel, a Swiss official who heads the International Ice Hockey Federation, breached rules by helping a friend in connection with a television and marketing deal.
The board added that Fasel's conduct was "likely to tarnish the reputation of the Olympic movement”.
Fasel was also the IOC member who oversaw the planning for the Vancouver Olympics.
