Wolverhampton Wanderers has signed a three-year kit supplier deal with Swiss sportswear manufacturer Burrda. It is the biggest kit deal in the club’s 133-year history.

The contract with Wolves is Burrda’s first UK football agreement, although it supplies kit to several teams in the Middle East, including the Kuwait and Qatar national sides.

Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey said: "We'd like to thank Le Coq Sportif, who've been fantastic partners of the club over the last six years. This announcement represents the end of a thorough process to secure a new kit manufacturer that combines quality products for our fans with the best possible commercial deal for the football club.

"Burrda are new to football in this country but they have a strong international track record across a number of different sports, with plans to further extend their brand into the UK. We've listened to fans' ideas on designs throughout the year and, together with Burrda, we've come up with simple, retro-style designs, using state-of-the-art technical material.”

Burrda's general manager Charles Diab added: "We've always planned to enter the UK football market and when the chance came with a club steeped in history as Wolves is, we knew the fit was right.

“They share our passion to work hard and succeed. We congratulate [manager] Mick McCarthy and the team on their success this season and feel confident the timing coincides with the club enjoying an extended stay in the Premier League.

"When putting a team kit collection together, we always look at the history and ensure we combine interesting designs with high technology materials to create sporting wear that looks and feels great as well as helping athletes perform to their maximum."
