Greenhous, the new and used car dealer network, has announced that it has extended its long sponsorship of Shrewsbury Town, and launched a public vote to rename the club’s ground.
The company will sponsor the stadium from next season in a three-year deal and is giving fans the chance to vote on the new name in an online poll.
Since the 9,875-capacity ground was completed for the beginning of the 2007/08 season, it has been called the Oteley Road Stadium and the New Meadow.
Now Greenhous and Shrewsbury Town are inviting supporters to participate in an online vote to decide whether the site should be rechristened the Greenhous Stadium, Park, Colosseum, Arena or Meadow.
"The Shrews attract the biggest regular crowd to home games of any club or event in the county, and many of our customers and staff are season ticket holders," said Dave Sullivan, director general manager of Greenhous Shropshire.
"We really want to get as many fans and customers involved with our sponsorship as possible, so at the start of next season, we'll be announcing a series of new initiatives to give as many people as possible the opportunity to participate."
