The NBA Europe Live game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves in London has sold out.

The game, which takes place at The O2 on October 4, has proved to be the most popular of the four NBA matches that have been played in London since 2007.

Sophie Goldschmidt, senior vice-president of NBA Europe, said: "Selling out the fourth consecutive NBA Europe Live game – this year in record time – spotlights the ever-growing appetite for NBA basketball in the UK.”

Alex Hill, senior executive director at AEG, which owns The O2, added: “I am not at all surprised at how quickly the NBA game at The O2 has sold out – it is a real highlight in our sporting calendar.

“We’re delighted that we will be hosting one of the most famous teams in the world, the LA Lakers, and welcoming back the Minnesota Timberwolves who played in our inaugural NBA fixture in 2007.”
