Online gaming company offers Woods $100m ‘no-strings’ deal
 18/05/2010

BodogBrand.com has offered Tiger Woods a $100m no-strings-attached sponsorship deal.

The online gaming company’s offer includes a ‘no moral judgement clause’, which is believed to be a first for an endorsement deal.

The company’s founder Calvin Ayre said: “BodogBrand feel they are the only ones who can extend a deal that will be totally unaffected by any non-golf related activity. We actively encourage and endorse employees and customers alike to ‘play hard’.

“The deal? Whatever it takes! BodogBrand is happy to sponsor and help Tiger get back to his best by any means necessary.”

Woods lost a string of sponsorship deals after admitting being unfaithful to his wife – but Ayre insists BodogBrand is not put off by the golfer’s tarnished reputation.

“To be clear, BodogBrand is not telling Tiger ‘all is forgiven’,” Ayre added. “In BodogBrand’s eyes, there is nothing to forgive.

“BodogBrand believes you should do whatever it takes to be world No 1 and will back Tiger Woods to the tune of $100m to do just that no matter what allegations – substantiated or otherwise – appear during the five-year deal.”

Woods turned down a five-year deal worth $75m with Irish bookmaker Paddy Power earlier this year.
