Jaime Ortiz-Patino, owner of the Valderrama club in Spain where the 1997 Ryder Cup was staged, has been made an honorary life vice-president of the European Tour.
Bolivia-born Patino was honoured by the Tour's chief executive George O'Grady and two-time Masters champion Jose Maria Olazabal at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth at the end of last week.
