The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will punish four countries for breaching ticket rules at this year’s Vancouver Winter Olympics by reducing their allocation for the London 2012 Summer Games.
IOC director Gilbert Felli said the four countries, which he declined to name, will face action for the way in which the sales of their Vancouver allocations were handled.
Each National Olympic Committee receives a quota of tickets that it can sell to the public in its home country, but some NOCs in the past have passed the tickets on to touts for profit.
