The Sahara Group has agreed a new deal to sponsor the Indian cricket team until 2013.
The deal was announced on Monday (May 31) by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, which issued a tender for the rights last week. Sahara beat off competition from Bharti Airtel to extend its deal.
Sahara, which has interests in financial services, real estate, media and tourism, held the rights for Indian internationals for four years through a previous deal.
