The Sun newspaper will produce a one-off 3D edition on June 5, featuring specially converted pictures.
Readers will be given a pair of 3D glasses with that day's paper, which the Sun is billing as the start of its football World Cup coverage. The World Cup begins the following Friday – June 11.
Pictures and ads used in the June 5 paper "will be specially converted for 3D viewing", according to the Sun. Readers will also be able to see the 3D pictures on the Sun website.
Ian Rees, head of trading for Sun publisher News Group Newspapers, said "a number of clients from the telecoms, travel and retail sectors" had signed up to advertise in 3D the edition of the paper.
