The British Amateur Boxing Association (BABA) is overhauling its commercial practices in a bid to capitalise on the London 2012 Olympic Games.
BABA currently has a kit provider in Adidas but no commercial partners.
Brand Republic reports that the overhaul will see the introduction of five sponsor categories, which will allow brands to tap into the sport. The categories are Team GB boxing title sponsor, women's team partner, community sport partner, travel partner and power partner.
The body has also created the new position of commercial director to manage its relationships with sponsors and is currently looking for someone to fill the role.
Derek Mapp, executive chairman at BABA, said: "Boxing offers real medal potential, guaranteed TV exposure and grassroots links that deliver enormous social benefits, often in deprived communities.
"All of these help to differentiate boxing from other Olympic sports and give it the potential to generate huge interest in the build-up to 2012 and at the Games."
