Swedish beauty company Oriflame has signed up to sponsor the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour.
Oriflame has agreed a two-year deal that starts from 2011 to become the Tour’s official cosmetics partner.
WTA Tour chairman and chief executive Stacey Allaster said: “We are excited to welcome Oriflame as our new partner and look forward to working together to enhance the marketing of women’s tennis and the Oriflame brand. This announcement is a further signal of the investment strength of women’s tennis as a sports marketing platform.”
Under the agreement, Oriflame will become an official Tour partner in Europe, Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Middle East and Africa, as well as receiving significant presence at 26 Tour events across these markets, including the season-ending WTA Tour Championships.
Oriflame chief executive Magnus Brännström added: “We are thrilled to become a sponsor of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour and support the world’s best female athletes. Women’s tennis combines the perfect balance of athleticism and glamour, and through this new partnership Oriflame wants to help inspire women around the world to look great, have fun and be the best they can be.”
