The 2013 Presidents Cup will be contested at Muirfield Village between the United States and an International team.
Having already staged the Ryder Cup in 1987 and the Solheim Cup in 1998, the Jack Nicklaus-designed course in Ohio will now move back into the spotlight once again.
"I view the Presidents Cup as a showcase for global golf and a platform to promote good will and sportsmanship inherent to the sport," Nicklaus said.
Fred Couples will lead the USA as they aim to defend their title in Australia in 2011.
First played in 1994, the event was held at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia, which also hosted the tournament in 2000 and 2005.
The Americans recorded a third successive victory last time out after claiming victory at the Harding Park Golf Club in San Francisco, California.
