ITV is set to introduce a free iPhone application which will give users the chance to watch the 2010 World Cup live on their handsets.
The app will stream all live games featured on ITV with viewers seeing the same commercial breaks as those watching on television.
ITV has sold the first three months’ exclusively to WPP media agencies Mediacom and M4C.
Ben McOwen Wilson, outgoing director of online and interactive at ITV, said: "Our aim at ITV is to make our content available when and where our viewers want to watch it.
"As the only UK broadcaster to screen the World Cup on mobile, this application offers advertisers a dynamic way to interact with viewers and puts ITV at the forefront of mobile VOD."
Supporters across the UK will be able to watch all the games being shown on ITV1 and ITV4 as well as Red Bee Media’s information service.
