ESPN Star Sports has renewed its television rights across several Asian Markets for Major League Baseball until 2013.
The new contract, which starts on June 21, will allow viewers in Taiwan to watch 10 regular live season matchers per week, while Baseball lovers in Hong Kong and South-east Asia will be able to watch seven.
The new deal also includes rights for end of season matches from the World Series, League Championship Series and the Division Series.
Manu Sawhney, Managing Director of ESPN STAR Sports said: “This renewal reinforces our longstanding relationship with MLB since its first broadcast on our networks in 1995.
“Highlighted by the growing passion for this sport in Asia, we are pleased to showcase more MLB games than ever before on our networks through the 2013 season, especially at a time when Asian players are enjoying unprecedented success with some of the best teams in MLB.
“As Asia’s biggest sports broadcaster, this is another step in our commitment to deliver the best sporting action from around the world to our viewers.”
