Enjoy Jakarta has renewed their relationship with the Indonesia Open by agreeing a deal to become the Presenting Sponsor for the inaugural tournament on the OneAsia tour.

The event, which will take place at the Damai Indah Golf - Pantai Indah Kapuk Course from July 1 to 4, will boast prize money of US$1 million.

The Indonesia Open will be the fifth event on the OneAsia schedule and has helped boost the tour’s prize money to US$12 million.

“These are exciting times for golf in our region and so we at Enjoy Jakarta are thrilled to be continuing our relationship with Indonesia’s national Open,” said His Excellency Dr. Ing H. Fauzi Bowo, Governor of Jakarta.

“We first became involved with the tournament in 2005 with the plan to build a lasting bond with one of the country’s most high profile sporting events.

“We have witnessed some memorable finishes to the Indonesia Open over the past few seasons and through this we have been able to achieve outstanding coverage. We have no doubt that the exposure will be even greater this year as the tournament becomes part of OneAsia.”

First played in 1974, the Indonesia Open was then won by Ben Arda of the Philippines while other winners include America’s Paine Stewart and New Zealand’s Frank Nobilo.

“We are delighted that everything is now in place for this year’s Indonesia Open presented by Enjoy Jakarta,” said Arifin Panigoro – President of the Indonesian Golf Association (PGI).

“We have a great sponsor and an outstanding venue plus a bright future now that we are part of OneAsia.”
