The South African government has sent out a firm warning to ticket touts ahead of the start of the World Cup and has urged supporters to behave during the tournament.
Last Sunday’s stampede outside a warm-up game between Nigeria and North Korea left 15 people injured and caused concern amongst FIFA officials.
"The government will not tolerate any unruly, disruptive and unsafe behaviour that impacts negatively on those attending public events," government spokesman Themba Maseko said.
Maesko has also warned supporters they should not enter stadiums, fan parks or public viewing areas during the competition without valid tickets.
He added: "Those found in possession of illegal tickets will be prosecuted."
The government and local officials have spent $174 million on security for the tournament and will deploy 40,000 police just for the event.
