Major League Baseball club, The Texas Rangers, have pleaded with the judge for permission to hire Perella Weinberg Partners as an investment banker as it looks to complete the sale of the club.
The New York-based firm would receive a monthly fee of $87,500 and a one-time fee of $1.5m following the sale.
The Rangers have already confirmed their intention to sell the club a consortium led by Nolan Ryan, the team’s president, and minor league club owner, Chuck Greenberg.
“The team has been marketed, a buyer has been chosen, and there’s no intention to market the team,” said Rangers spokesman Mark Semer said
