Tiger Woods is set to unveil two brand new campuses for the Tiger Woods Learning Centre in the District of Columbia.
Woods, who constructed a $25 million centre in California in 2006, has been helped with funding by sponsors including Microsoft Corp., Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., MTM Builder/Developer Inc., and several anonymous donations, according to a statement posted on the foundation’s website.
“I’m excited we are moving forward on this initiative in the Washington, D.C., community,” Woods said in the statement.
“The two campuses will bring the best of our curriculum to some very deserving kids. A lot of people have helped to make this happen, and I’m very grateful for their support.”
The cost of investment in the new centres has yet to be disclosed but students from fifth grade through to highs school will take classes ranging from graphic design to forensic science.
Unlike the 35,000-square-foot building in California, Woods has had to rely on new sponsors and donors for the new venture.
Several of the golfer’s sponsors, including Accenture Plc and AT&T; Inc, withdrew their funding following a November car accident which led to his admission of marital infidelity.
