A 2.2kg diamond-encrusted football is the subject of a fierce tug-of-war between two top clubs from Spain and England.
The 3,500 carats ball, which contains 6,620 white and 2.640 black jewels, costs around £2.58million and is the exact size of the Jabulani ball being used at the 2010 World Cup.
"I am negotiating with the owners of two European clubs. They want to take it back to Europe," Yair Shimansky, chief executive of Shimansky Jewellers, told Reuters following the unveiling of the ball in Cape Town.
"We did it with the World Cup in mind. It was a two-and-a-half year project," he added.
