FIFA vice-president Jack Warner is being investigated by the government of Trinidad and Tobago after a panel of legal experts was asked to examine whether his position is incompatible with his role in the government.
Warner, who is also the Minister of Works and Transport, was appointed to the cabinet last month following the organisation of a coalition government.
However, opposition leader Keith Rowley has questioned whether Warner can work for both FIFA and the country’s government.
Attorney General Anand Ramlogan has approached three constitutional experts to look into the case and is now hoping for a resolution.
"It is not as clear cut as it appears at first blush and furthermore the Code of Ethics, referred to by the Integrity Commission, is a matter that would need careful consideration in light of the modern realities that we face in 2010," said Ramlogan.
