The US Open will return to Pebble Beach Golf Links in 2019 to mark the 100th anniversary of the California course.
Pebble Beach, which has already hosted the tournament on five previous occasions, is also hosting this year’s event.
"There's a wonderful symmetry for the 2019 U.S. Open," said Tom O’Toole, chairman of the USGA's championship committee.
"Pebble Beach hosted our 100th U.S. Open in 2000. Now, we return to celebrate their centennial with our national championships."
Meanwhile, the US Golf Association confirmed that Erin Hills, a public built course in Winconsin’s Kettle Moraine region, will host the 2017 Open.
Mike Davis, USGA senior director of Rules and Competitions, said: "Erin Hills boasts one of the greatest natural inland sites for a golf course that I have ever seen.
“It was designed and is managed in ways that are respectful of the environment - and it also happens to be an excellent test of golf."
The site of the 2018 US Open has yet to be confirmed.
