Brazilian Tourism Minister Luiz Barretto has revealed that two more stadiums could be cut from the 2014 World Cup with concerns growing over finances.
Sao Paulo’s Morumbi stadium has already been removed from the programme with arenas in the southern cities of Porto Alegre and Curitiba tipped to follow suit.
The Estadio Beira-Rio in Port Alegre, which belongs to Sport Club Internacional, is set to miss out along with the Arena de Baixada, home of Clube Atletico Paranaense.
Meanwhile, Barretto insists the world famous Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro will be ready for the tournament as well as eight other venues.
