The International Rugby Board has confirmed it has renewed an agreement with IMG to provide exclusive commercial representation at the 2015 and 2019 World Cups.
The agreement, which has been in place since 1995, will see IMG represent primary commercial rights sales as well as broadcast, sponsorship marketing, commercial ticketing and licensing.
Since the 1995 World Cup, revenue has shot up from £32 million to £122 million which made France 2007 such a big success.
The IRB has already pledged to invest £153 million during the period 2009-12 to help increase the game’s global appeal.
The partnership with IMG has seen coverage of the Rugby World Cup double and the 2011 tournament in New Zealand is set to attract an audience of 4 billion from over 200 countries.
