Organisers of this year’s Commonwealth Games in Delhi have vowed to make the event the “best ever”.
Delhi 2010 organising committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi said: “We are going to do it – no two ways about it. We have moved ahead technologically and the last Commonwealth Commission that visited Delhi was all praise for us.
“Around 30,000 enthusiastic volunteers, who are the face of the Games, are being trained in Amity University. We are working day and night to ensure great success for the Games.”
Chief minister of Delhi Sheila Dikshit added: “These Games will be conducted in the best-ever way. We are up to it. What is being constructed now in Delhi will be a legacy for India.”
