ITV has been forced to caution pundit Edgar Davids after he wore a top featuring branding for a clothing company he works with on air.
The former Holland international appeared in the brightly coloured top, for football clothing brand Monta, during an interview with Jim Rosenthal as part of ITV1's coverage of Spain v Honduras earlier this week.
ITV, whose World Cup coverage has been hit by a series of problems, said in a statement: "Edgar Davids has been reminded by ITV producers that he should not wear any clothing with branding that is clearly visible.”
Last week ITV was forced to sack Robbie Earle after tickets in his name found their way to 36 women clad in orange mini-dresses who were part of an ambush marketing attempt.
And it had to apologise after HD viewers missed Steven Gerrard’s goal in England’s opening game against the USA when the broadcaster cut away to a break.
