Aer Lingus has signed a title sponsorship deal with the Belfast Giants ice hockey team.
The team will be known as the Aer Lingus Belfast Giants and the airline will provide the Canadian and North American players with transatlantic flights to Ireland as part of the deal, as well as flying the team to Elite League away games in England.
Aer Lingus’s director of communications Declan Kearney said: “It gives me great pleasure to announce the Aer Lingus Belfast Giants title sponsorship deal. We are delighted to provide transport for the players through our extensive US network in conjunction with our partner airlines.
“Last season Aer Lingus was the official airline sponsor to the Giants, holding that designation until this transition to title sponsorship. It seemed like a logical progression and further represents our commitment to the Northern Irish community. We will concentrate on working with the Giants to bring star players to Northern Ireland.”
